Who is trying to kill an ordinary New Mexican housewife? It's true that Ana Darcy Méndez has secrets even her husband and adorable twins don't know. One is that her countrymen have accidentally given terrorists a deadly new weapon which they are about to use. As she risks her life to prevent a massacre, the Russian Mafia, the American Mafia, the U.S. Special Forces, the F.B.I., and the C.I.A. learn one more of her secrets: she is no ordinary housewife!

As in the first Distant Cousin novel, Ana Darcy cuts through your heart like a Samurai sword in this third installment of the unusual Distant Cousin sci-fi novels...ten-star-good...a totally outstanding read...will leave tracks on your heart. (Floyd M. Orr, author of The Last Horizon)

The unique blend of believable not-too-distant futures and adventures, familiar yet not so familiar people and places, and ever present theme of timeless, spaceless love and joy provide the reader with more than entertainment and excitement. Distant Cousin Reincarnation kindles deep hope for us and all of our cousins. (Reviewer at Barnes and Noble.com)

The sense of wonder we all had the first time we watched Close Encounters of the Third Kind is magically reincarnated. Reading all the Distant Cousin books is like playing a movie in your head. This is the way we want life to be.... Reincarnation rekindles amazement. Life should always be like this. (Tabitha's Book Reviews, www.iuniversebookreviews.blogspot.com)

The Arrival of Distant Cousin: Volume 1

A girl who speaks an extinct Indo-European language shows up at an observatory in West Texas warning of disaster headed for Earth. She claims to know this because she has been studying Earth from the moon for 60 years. Obviously she's crazy, and they kick her out. But the government watched her land and chases and captures her. Running for her life, she makes some odd friends who help her devise an outrageous plan to get her message across. If it doesn't work, she'll die along with millions of others. If it does, what then? That's only the beginning...

...one of the best reads I have ever had. He has grounded the story in the unmistakeable reality of west Texas, with characters you will not only believe in but love. Each chapter is a wonderful surprise that leads you on to the next. There is no doubt that Distant Cousin would make a spectacular, crowd-pleasing movie....It is so heartwarming and fun. (Margaret Moser, The Beeville Bee-Picayune, June 17, 2006)

...a very unusual and memorable book, the sort of story you recommend to your friends saying, "Well, it's not really science fiction, it's not really a mystery, there's some suspense, but it's not really a thriller, and--oh, just read it, you'll like it!" (Rebecca Pechefsky, prize-winning author of Bruno Walter: A World Elsewhere)

Volume Two!

As Darcy and Matt are enjoying their new babies along come Darcy's relatives, threatening to ruin the historic reunion with Earth. With justified misgivings, Darcy tries to rescue the jeopardized arrival, but her mission puts her straight in the path of mortal danger. Forced to choose between mortal danger and death, what will become of her precious family?

...excellent, captivating....As with the first Distant Cousin, the intriguing characters grab one's imagination in unexpected ways.  Besides the sheer joy of experiencing the thrills of our cousin's adventures, this story also lets us explore the power of good and evil intentions in worlds that seem oddly familiar.  There must be more!! (Review at Amazon.com)

The chiefest thing about...Al's books...is not only their chair-gripping suspense but their wonderful happiness.... I'm still smiling when I think of number one and I've been giving this second book a big hug every day since I finished it. God bless heroines like Darcy! We need to see how virtue, clever, intelligent, and creative, can attract good and loving allies and find a way to outwit a pack of black-hearted villains. Take my word for it: Darcy leaves them in the deep west Texas dust. (Margaret Moser, Beeville Bee-Picayune, September 6, 2006)
